Featuring a robust 3 HP single-phase motor and industrial-grade cast iron construction, the 1285 delivers the power, stability, and accuracy required for demanding woodworking applications.

Equipped with a standard straight knife cutterhead using three high-speed steel knives, the jointer operates at 5,000 RPM to produce clean and consistent cutting performance across its full 12-inch working width. The precision-ground cast iron tables measure 84 inches in length, offering exceptional support for long boards, panels, and heavy hardwood stock.

The parallelogram table system keeps the tables in close proximity to the cutterhead while allowing quick and accurate depth-of-cut adjustments without sacrificing long-term alignment accuracy. Powermatic’s center-mounted cast iron fence uses a rack-and-pinion adjustment mechanism with positive stops for repeatable angle settings and smooth operation.

Built for durability and long service life, the 1285 features heavy cast iron construction throughout the base, fence, and tables to reduce vibration and improve surface finish quality. The integrated rabbeting ledge supports rabbeting operations up to 3/4 inch deep, adding versatility for joinery and woodworking applications.
